does anybody have one? if so, please comment on its behavior and your experience with it thus far.

ordered one up that is coming from SA and am eager to see this tail wagging action that everyone talks about!

We were thinking about ordering some of those, but I can't seem to find any info on what they eat or what kind of environment they live in.

You can find a very similar species in the Chesapeake Bay, they call them skillet fish because of their shape. Related to gobies and act alike. I use to catch them off of pilings off Oceanview Beach in Norfolk. The ones from the bay were fairly aggresive with each other and produce copious amounts of mucus when you tried to catch tlem. They can stick to glass like glue!!

doesn't sound like a reef fish at all. sounds like it needs a thriving sandbed and plenty of pods to survive.

The skillet fish got tame very quickly and would eat flake food. They would gather at the top of the water and wag their tails like puppies.

The tropical clingfish are very hard to keep alive. I have had a few but none lived very long.

Good luck

yeah these are new releases from SA and much different than what most have posted about in tropical and non-reef related environments. i'll be sure to post up some photos and experience but they seem quite tame, very entertaining, easy to keep, and only aggressive towards other clingfish. not a pretty guy but the personality will surely make up for it, it seems.

check out the reefbuilders article: http://reefbuilders.com/2012/12/18/sustainable-aquatics-captivebred-marine-bettas-stippled-clingfish-trickling-fish-stores/

Keep us informed on these fish. Now I'm interested. If they are anything like the bay skillet fish they are going to be very entertaining.

I actually saw a marine betta at That Fish Place in PA yesterday. Very pretty fish

LA DD has one from SA for sale if anyone is interested...http://www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/ItemDisplay.cfm?c=2733+3&ddid=182612
