matt January 24, 2013 January 24, 2013 Anybody got pics or experience they would share? I have very limited room under my stand (Oceanic 46 bow), but I have room behind it. I recently got an AC3 with DC8 and DC4 that will run 2 BRS dosers among other things. I've got to get all this in there somehow. I'm thinking of making a wood panel and mounting everything to that...then mounting the panel to the wall behind the tank stand so that I still have leverage to pull plugs easily. I know I've seen panels like this made, but haven't turned up threads on my initial searching. If you've been through this type of thing before, I'd love to see pics of your setup (or others you've seen/used). Show something off :-) Also, any special advice is appreciated in regards to limiting exposure to moisture or splash from the adjacent sump or tank above. Thanks all!!
steveoutlaw January 24, 2013 January 24, 2013 Check with Avast. I know that GSA used to make a mounting unit for the ACIII.....they may still have some.
matt January 24, 2013 Author January 24, 2013 Steve - thanks, I posted in the Avast forum...can't find a pic of anything they might have made via google though Anyone got pics of their DIY controller mounts or power panels to give me some ideas???
AlanM January 24, 2013 January 24, 2013 Check out this guy's build. He's a seriously neat installer. Here's the post with his equipment panel: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=18412611&postcount=3
matt January 24, 2013 Author January 24, 2013 Alan, thanks!! And so funny...I'd just found a pic of his panel...but hadn't found the thread yet. I was going to post it so people knew what I was thinking, but you're link is better. And mine may not look quite as nice when I'm done...but that's what I'm thinking about.
hypertech January 24, 2013 January 24, 2013 (edited) That guy would have a fit with my setup. I start with good intentions of keeping things neat, but overtime as I need to remove things for mainenance, etc it turns into a mess. I just put a piece of industrial velcro on the back of the display and stick it to the inside of the door. My stand is made of 2x4 supports, so I just screw the electronics into the legs.
