I have a large gold spotted rabbitfish in my tank and he's one of my favorites. Today, while moving around some rockwork, I was gluing some corals to the rock and the big dumba$$ takes a big bite of wet glue. So, now it looks like he has a huge wad of lipstick on one side of his mouth. I put some Nori in and he's able to eat just fine.

So, as long as he can eat........will the dried glue on his mouth hurt him?

no... as long as he doesnt try to rub it off.... just keep an eye on him.. with their slime coat it should actually come off within a week

+1 I read a post along time ago on RC about a hippo tang that did the same thing, only it glued it shut all the way. Took about a week for the glue to let go.

OMG! I'm glad it's looks like everything is turning out ok - because I had to laugh a little! Poor guy must have thought that was the worst tasting food he ever ate!

I'd imagine it'd come off pretty quickly on it's own too. It seems to come off of my fingers pretty quickly anyway.

I actually laughed at first..........he came out looking like he put on a huge wad of lipstick. But then I felt sorry for the guy because the glue was hardening and I was afraid he was going to glue his mouth shut. Of course, 3 drinks in even that was funny. But I hope it all works out.

Don't know if he swallowed any, but I doubt he would have any troubles passing it if he did. He likes to scoop up the substrate and he poops that out all the time.
