Did something in my tank lay eggs?

Hi all,

 

I came home today and noticed what appears to be little white eggs all over my glass.

1. Is that what they are?

 

2. Which fish likely laid these? In the tank is a six line wrasse, two ocellaris clownfish and a royal dottyback.

 

3. Do I need to do anything about them or can they stay?

They are not moving at all? They look like snails to me.

Nope, they look to be jelly-ish. Semi-transparent. If I look really closely I can see something inside them that looks a little yellowish. There are about 80 of them scattered on the 3 sides of my glass.

tI could be eggs then, I 've just never seen them spread out like that, normally they are close to one spot in a cluster or in a line.

Ahhh, yes. Sharkey, I believe you are right. I looked up Nerite snail eggs and they look like what I have in my tank.

I think the mystery is solved.

 

Question is, do I leave them? Should I be expecting 100 more cleanup crew members?

I always leave them. They never grow to plague type numbers.

I leave them alone unless they are on the front / viewing side of my tank. They scrape of very easily. I don't think mine ever hatch.

Oval shaped? Could be limpets. It not then snail eggs. Nerite snails lay eggs that look like your picture but Coral Hind is correct in that nerites usually lay their eggs closer together.
