I have no brain.

The divider in my sump was a little too tall, so I was going to put a couple notches in it with the dremel. Got about half done with the first one when I was rudely reminded with a loud noise that the panel was tempered. What a mess! So now there is no divider and my tank has so many micro bubbles that it looks like a heavy fog. And that is with the skimmer off right now (water level isn't right now for the height of the skimmer stand).

It's interesting how such a tiny little dremel bit results in the exact same pop and destruction as a drill bit.

If you can, Forrest, you can cut a piece of Plexiglas just a tad short (1/8"), apply a little adhesive weather stripping to three edges and jam it in place. This keeps you from having to take the fuge offline.

I have a same-size piece of glass that I stuck in there, but it's being held in the spot with rocks, so micro bubbles still go through, and the piece of glass I don't know if it's tempered or not and don;t want to end up with the same issue I was trying to fix.

I don't mean to sound even more stupid, but what kind of adhesive weatherstripping? The only kind I've ever dealt with is for cars.

Wow, that is VERY cool! How come more people don't do it?

Thanks very much for the thread and the link: I have been meaning to place some baffles into the sump for my QT to get better function from the small skimmer I put in there. I had been dreading it before now (it's a glass 10G sump and cutting glass to be able to silicone is a PITA).
