ridetheducati August 9, 2012 August 9, 2012 I maybe wrong, but I do not think dipping with Revive or CoralRx kills the eggs. At least, that is my expectation.
jefftse August 10, 2012 Author August 10, 2012 I dip all my coral with Revive about 3 mins each and I use the turkey baster to blow the water into coral in that 3 mins time period.
trockafella August 10, 2012 August 10, 2012 I would go longer than 3 min. I usually do 10-15min depending on the coral.
Steve175 August 12, 2012 August 12, 2012 10-15min here as well with double the advised concentration of revive (unless known to be difficult coral i.e. red dragon).
jefftse August 12, 2012 Author August 12, 2012 Since I only have been seeing them in the frag tank. I'm going to net the fish out (only 3), then bomb it with flatworm exit. Also change all the water in there (shut the valve off and change all 20G). I hope it works!
Jan August 12, 2012 August 12, 2012 You may need to treat a couple of times. Ask Vince how he got rid of the ones in the SPS tank. They had a couple of different types in there about 2 weeks ago.
GraffitiSpotCorals August 12, 2012 August 12, 2012 I would bet that they are in your display and if you don't treat the whole system your just putting a patch on it. When I have used it I would o ly see a few, then when they started dying they would be flowing out of the rockwork. I had to baste them out from behind rocks.
Steve175 August 12, 2012 August 12, 2012 I would probably treat the whole tank as well. I have used it only once in the past (~ 8 years ago) and used it actually as per label, but it worked fully and with zero coral, fish, or invertebrate deaths. As above, be ready with GAC and large water changes.
zygote2k August 13, 2012 August 13, 2012 go with a double dose of eXit the first time. treat the entire system. have a carbon reactor on hand, but allow at least 4 hours for the eXit to fully work before adding the reactor. Do a water change if you see adverse effects before using the carbon.
