Coral Hind December 26, 2012 Share December 26, 2012 I thought that the Heniocus Acuminatus was the nipper and that the duphrates was reef safe. Your right, my confusion with acuminatus. The duphrates do grow fast and over 8" so that is something to think about but it would look cool to see a large school of them in an 8' tank. Thanks! That is actually Hawkins Echanata that I got from Bob (Rocko) about 1.5yrs ago as a single .75" branch frag, now a little under the size of a tennis ball! It would be larger, but it got stressed out during all the transitions from different systems while setting up the 330. This tank is an inspiration - please keep the pics coming! absolute eye candy. Yeah, I don't regret going bare bottom especially with SPS, which has allowed me to be able to turn all pumps full blast without the worry of sand blowing around. However, I can't say that I don't still contemplate throwing some sand in there, as I do miss the look. Thanks again! I will also say it is so much easier to clean detritus out no, because it will vortex into little piles that are easily siphoned out. The one downside for me right now is not being able to have particular wrasses that require a sandbed. I've thought of adding a little tub of sand under a rock, but then it will just get flicked or blown out. I know that you sometimes can get away with bare bottom and they will just sleep tucked under a rock, but I don't want to take the chance and stress anything out. -Anthony Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
