TDS reading on my RODI water currently is at 5ppm, do i need to replace/buy filters? if so, do i need to replace all filters or just DI filter?

the filter system is about 3 months old, bought new, with 0ppm when i started.

thanks in advanced.

Is the di portion exhausted?

You can easily tell if you have color changing resin.

Check the level prior to it going through the resin if not.

^ flushing is key

...............i have never done any maintance to this unit, (how do i flush the unit?)

It says color changing DI resin - if it hasn't changed color (completely) then it's not exhausted. Generally changes from bottom to top.

Flush = bypassing the waste water restrictor. Just letting the water flow across the membrane w/o the pressure restriction to force water through the membrane. Generally kits come with this "option" (back flush....), the one you linked to makes no mention...............doesn't have one? You can buy it as an add on. It's pretty simple really, it's just a bypass of the restrictor (in the waste water line).

If you're new - how many gallons have you processed through the unit? RO membranes generally last 2 - 3 years depending on the TDS of the incoming water...............but it also depends your location. It's spring time here = some jurisdictions use Chloramine - the normal carbon block will not remove this & it can ruin an RO membrane in short order. They also use Chlorine but your carbon block should take that out........unless you've passed some 25,000 gallons accross it?
