04svtfoci January 20, 2012 Share January 20, 2012 When i was running T5s as my light source my coraline on my rocks spread and encrusted everywhere, i had red, 2 shades of purple and green all over my rock. Since i have switched to MH system my coraline has bleached. Now only near the bottom of the tank and some at the top still have nice color. I assume the MH's are maybe to much for if? i still do my calcium, and trace elements etc like always. Everything else esp my lps, sps and zoas are spreading and growing like crazy. Cliff Puckstable January 20, 2012 Share January 20, 2012 I'm running MH and I have coraline growing like woah. Maybe it needs to get used to the light.
Reefoholic January 20, 2012 Share January 20, 2012 ^^ +1 When I switched to MHs, my coraline bleached a little and then there was an explosion of pink on everything...
overklok January 20, 2012 Share January 20, 2012 The metal halides have more PAR, therefore you have bleached the coraline algae. Coraline algae usually prefers diffuse lighting like T-5's.
