rfilley January 9, 2012 Share January 9, 2012 I am looking to get a Copperbanded Butterfly for Aiptasia control. Someone told me they eat clams. Has anyone heard this or had any experiences?
Jan January 9, 2012 Share January 9, 2012 I think they may. I know they pick at LPS and I've read they may pick at anemones too. They like fleshy frozen and live foods.
eddi January 9, 2012 Share January 9, 2012 I have had a Copperband for years now, and have never had a problem with clams; however, Jan is right, they may pick al LPS, especially fleshy ones like scolymias, lobophylia and wells. Usually, if you add the fish last it will not pick at existing corals, but that is certainly not a guarantee. They can be a bit tough to get to start eating, but they do an amazing job on aptaisia.
