Annap729 December 6, 2011 Share December 6, 2011 Phoenix doesn't sell a 70w bulb so I'm wondering what is the best for this size and type of bulb.
gioNVA December 6, 2011 Share December 6, 2011 Look for Astralux 14K. Not sure if they still make them but those are the ones I liked when I ran 70w.

gioNVA December 7, 2011 Share December 7, 2011 Try the ushio 20k. It's a little bluer but nice. I'll see if I still have any of my old bulbs so you can try them out.

surf&turf December 7, 2011 Share December 7, 2011 Hamilton makes a 70 watt 14k DE, I run the 150 version and they have excellent color.
Annap729 December 7, 2011 Author Share December 7, 2011 I read a few blurbs about it being on the white side and things a little washed out. I'll look more into that. I know tank lighting is so subjective but it's good to hear what each person likes. I'm ok with some good actinic, I have corals that would be good to see pop.
