hypertech November 26, 2011 November 26, 2011 (edited) I did something to the pump on my Calcium reactor while I was working on the tank and it started leaking. I'm in the process of fixing it. So, now I'm worried that it might do it again. Any reason I can't put it in the sump and run it mostly submerged? Edited November 26, 2011 by hypertech
hypertech November 26, 2011 Author November 26, 2011 (edited) Ph probe would end up fully submerged. Can't do this can I? Edited November 26, 2011 by hypertech
Coral Hind November 26, 2011 November 26, 2011 I've noticed when my pH probe sits too low in the water it gives me a false low reading. Could you relocate the probe so it stays out of the water? I once had a reactor in the sump due to space issues and I placed the output hose from the reactor so it emptied into a specimen container hanging on the sump. I had the pH probe in that to give me the output of the reactor. The water just over flowed from there into the sump. Would that work for you?
hypertech November 26, 2011 Author November 26, 2011 Unfortunate no. It goes in a fitting in the reactor plumbing. Without the probe there's a big hole.
Origami November 27, 2011 November 27, 2011 Can you put something in the sump that helps to jack the reactor up, keeping the back of the probe out of the water?
hypertech November 27, 2011 Author November 27, 2011 (edited) I'm thinking about building a shelf in the stand to sit it on in an acrylic box that would drain down to the sump. Edited November 27, 2011 by hypertech
