I have a 210 with an aptasia issue. Before I go chemical I am thinking Berghia nudibranchs. Trying not to spend a whole lot of money so breeding will probably be tried. It will be probably long time coming and nothing guarenteed but do people have any need or interest in these in the future. I will at least have to find a home for mine when they are done. (assuming success:)

Peppermint either arent going after it or can't keep up. Made 3 tries with copperband and even though my other fish are healthy they keep dying. Read a little on scats and they seem to be hit or miss. These seem to be guaranteed "if" you can get a good population going. I also think I am reaching limits on my bio load. my idol and heniochus may not get a long either. (not sure but since they look alike)

Ask DerABT about breeding, he was able to get them to multiply. You need a small 10 gallon aquarium with an air driven sponge filter, water changes and some egg whorls. Put some apstasia in and watch them eat.

file fish is the only other sure thing that will desimate aiptasia that ive seen besides nudi's

Sean at Fins and Feather has gotten some really nice File fish and i got to watch it destroy some aiptasia in one of his tanks, also he has one of the best QT processes in the area if you ask me. in (also seen them at some other stores as well)

David, the berghias are great if you get their population going, but therein lies the difficulty. You'll need a dedicated tank to establish them and then the fish list you have will most likely eat them. They are nocturnal so stand a better chance, but it'll take a month or more to establish a colony that you can add to your tank through egg laying and hatching and then you'll still need to keep the adults you purchase separated so that you can continue using them to lay eggs. Be careful of how you feed them, too. I was keeping them in a separate container when I had them before and they crashed because I put a rock in with a coral on it that went south. When it died it fouled the water and killed everything.

The way I was pre planning I guess was to have two five gallon or 10 gallon tanks. One for aptasia and one for the misuse. Let em breed a couple generations then wait til they are half an inch to put them on.
