Sedra 3500 should I replace it or ???

I've got a ASM G-2 skimmer that I purchased used and the pump has never been right. It keeps making too many bubbles which go into the tank. Hubby took it out and thinks it may be the impeller. Are these things worth messing with? Should I try replacing the impeller or should I just buy a new one?

You could do the mesh wheel mod even if the impeller is damaged, because you remove all the needles anyway.

I think you should focus on trapping the bubbles coming out from the skimmer instead of trying to reduce bubbles going into a skimmer. I think the mess mod would create more fine bubbles then the current needle wheel which migh add to you problem.
