Incredible Corals September 11, 2011 September 11, 2011 (edited) My new tank has too much stuff floating around in the tank. It's not micro bubbles but more like tiny particles all over and won't go away. The sand bed is very coarse so it's not a dust storm. I've been running the filter sock since the tank was started and it's not going away. The last two tanks I had didn't have this issue. Any ideas on how I could fix this? treesprite September 11, 2011 September 11, 2011 did detritus in the sump get stirred up? Sometimes it takes a few days for that to finally settle down, because it keeps going through the tank and sump and tank... suspended in the water until the skimmer gets it all out,

I would think the drain from the overflow couldn't even get through a 1 micron filter without overflowing. did detritus in the sump get stirred up? The problem is the tank has been like that since I started it on 08/07/11. http://www.filterprofilters.com/I bought from them, and it was a smooth transaction. Thanks, I'll check it out. do you have a diamond goby or a goldhead goby? Nope, no critters stirring up the sand.
srd4080 September 13, 2011 September 13, 2011 I bought a charcoal and GFO filter, and it took care of it. Clear now.
