Mando77 August 19, 2011 August 19, 2011 I'm cleaning out my pumps and was looking at my Chiller hose/tubes. Do these ever need to be replaced? It looks like they got some junk in them. There is still good flow. I don't know how if you could clean these? Also is there any regular maintenance you should do on a chiller besides cleaning out the grill/filter?
F&Fmgr August 19, 2011 August 19, 2011 fill a bucket with muriatic and water(fresh) and and run that through your chiller....that'll clear the pipes and exchanger so the chiller isn't working as hard. Sean
flowerseller August 19, 2011 August 19, 2011 If you don't have the acid, you can use vinegar, not balsamic, and let it sit in there for awhile. Flush a little and then allow a 50/50 mix to flow thru in a loop for awhile. Always worked well for me and my chiller is about 15.

atoa August 19, 2011 August 19, 2011 I'll just throw in a little word of caution regarding muriatic acid. I have a family member who got really bad burns in the face and neck from an accident with it. She dropped an open bottle that splashed her. So be extra careful and wear protection when handling that stuff. Sent using Tapatalk
F&Fmgr August 19, 2011 August 19, 2011 yeah muriatic burns, but its good for softening the callous' on my hands!
dandy7200 August 21, 2011 August 21, 2011 Clean the coils once a year with a no rinse foaming coil cleaner. Usually, even if it looks clean it isn't. You'll extend the life of your chiller quite a bit by doing this plus it will run on less power and save you a few bucks on your electric bill.
