paul b August 16, 2011 August 16, 2011 Today I added a copperband and long nose butterfly. These have always been my favorite fish and I have always had them in my reef. The copperband is not in the greatest health, he has flukes and some wounds. It is not very easy getting a very healthy one of those. I knew that when I saw him but I got a deal I couldn't refuse. There are a bunch of local NY grass shrimp in my tank and the copperband thinks they are cleaner shrimp. He keeps hanging around next to the shrimp waiting to be cleaned, but they just look at him funny. I just felt like adding these pictures
Kevin Garrison August 16, 2011 August 16, 2011 great fish, sounds like it's time to add a cleaner shrimp
Ryan S August 16, 2011 August 16, 2011 good luck with your cbb. I had little success with them myself. I tried 2 before giving up. They usually looked unhealthy pretty quickly, plus had the spots, and then were gone in a matter of time. Could never get one to stay alive! :(
paul b August 16, 2011 Author August 16, 2011 They are more delicate than most fish and I don't think I kept one for more than 5 years, which stinks. But I have had many of them. They seem to have accidents more than most fish
NamReefs August 17, 2011 August 17, 2011 I have copperband eat flake food. He eat more than my yellow tang. Lucky he doesn't border any my coral and clam:)).
DaveS August 17, 2011 August 17, 2011 Is that a flame hawk in the last picture? Does he leave your shrimp alone?
paul b August 17, 2011 Author August 17, 2011 That is a fire clown and he does not bother anything. When he was young, I also thought he was a hawkfish. He is 17 years old. I spent some time with long noses in Tahiti. I don't know how many I have had but it was quite a few.
