treesprite July 9, 2011 Author July 9, 2011 (edited) Dang, I just typed a long post and accidently hit some button and it all deleted. Troy up there laughing at me, distracted me with the phone when I was in the middle of dealing with the overflowing skimmer, so I didn't turn it down enough. I discovered the problem this morning after being awakened by the grinding noise of my topoff pump running dry. The skimmer cup siphoning hose (which is airline) was already taking water from the cup draining into a bucket, and the skimmer over-skimming just fast enough to keep the siphoning hose going. So about 4 gallons got drained out of the system, and the system got diluted by fresh topoff water (for a system of appx 110g it wasn't enough to change the salinity more than neglibily). Skimmer drain-off bucket overflowed by a couple of cups, but there was a plastic bag on the floor. I guess it was an automated water change but with fresh water... I really wish I had one of those set up. Edited July 9, 2011 by treesprite
gmubeach July 9, 2011 July 9, 2011 I love distracting people in the night time, makes time at the plant more intresting... Anyway I have a hang on the back and when mine overflows it gets on the carpet:(
