What are the best herbivores for each type of algae?

What about for cyano?

How high is an acceptable level of Nitrate in a FOWLR system?

I like queen fighting conch for cyno, but they won't get it off the rocks.

bristle tooth tangs or just about any snail (I prefer ceriths or turbos) for film type algae

zebrasoma tangs or large turbos for hair algae

rabbitfish, urchins or emrald crabs for some of the "less appetizing" algaes (like valonia)

urchins for coraline algae

as Troy said, conchs will usually go for cyano

When I did maintenance, 40 ppm was the limit that I would use for nitrate in a FO, above that it was too difficult to keep symptoms (algae, cyano, general health problems) under control.
