What model? Thanks, should have the geisman bulbs next week, as far as a refractometer I dont bring in junk, so non overpriced is subjective.
Larry Grenier November 10, 2010 Author November 10, 2010 So, what Refractometer do you carry & is it in-stock?
johnnybv November 10, 2010 November 10, 2010 So, what Refractometer do you carry & is it in-stock? I have the Deltec SEAWATER ones, they are $79. I usually also carry the regular brine ones and they run $69. john
L8 2 RISE November 10, 2010 November 10, 2010 Sorry to change subject, but on the topic of the "SEAWATER" refractometers, I heard someone at MACNA going on about how only the deltec SEAWATER refractometers truly worked and that all other refractometers did something? that messed up measurements. I wasn't really paying attention, but have wondered about it since. Can you shed some light or am I going on about nothing?

Most of the units we are using if not all, are actually measuring brine, not taking into the other chlorides that are in the water like calcium chloride, magnesium chloride in addition to sodium chloride. The Deltec unit is set up for Seawater meaning it takes all the other chlorides into consideration and gives you a true seawater salinity. john
