kingfish August 6, 2010 August 6, 2010 (edited) Anyone has any experience with this skimmer? Is this a solid skimmer good for a 250 gallon tank with heavy bioload potential? So many choice skimmers. I was told ASM is the best bang for the buck..at least for the G2. G5 is preety tall, at 35 inches. I plan on putting everything under my display tank. The stand will be built to accomadate equipment that I select over the next few months. Right now I'm putting in a drain, water outlet, and dedicate circuit forthe tank. CHUBAKAH August 6, 2010 August 6, 2010 I was using a G3 on 240 gallons and it worked just fine. I do however normally have an under stocked fish load though, and I don't over feed at all. Haven't used the G5 myself but I would assume it should be good to go.
extreme_tooth_decay August 7, 2010 August 7, 2010 I had a G3 on my 125+55+40. Worked great, but I did have a giant fuge that did a lot of work also. I would think a G5 would be plenty for your 240.
OldReefer August 9, 2010 August 9, 2010 G5 should handle a 250. I once used a G6 on a 180 gallon, but that was a bit extreme. The G6 requires a massive sump and a lot of room.
