dcreefer May 3, 2010 May 3, 2010 I am replacing the bulbs on my tank and I am looking at the Phoenix 250W 14,000K. What's your opinion of this bulb? What are your recommendations? Tank has several anemones (Carpet, Bubble..etc), mushrooms and few large leather corals? I do not run any actinic lights and I am looking for a bulb that can provide everything.
jason the filter freak May 3, 2010 May 3, 2010 Best colored bulb I've ever run. Great pop with the corals that are reactive to actinic lights with out looking overly blue and artificial for the tank. Make sure you acclimate your corals to fresh bulbs especially those shrooms.
ReeferMan May 3, 2010 May 3, 2010 Radium 250w 20k bulbs are the best bulb I have used hands down. Best color and par for a 20k bulb. Its the higher par bulb I have seen on this color range.

Does the Radium come in a double end bulb...I've only seen the single? Edited May 3, 2010 by dcreefer
ReeferMan May 3, 2010 May 3, 2010 what i do is start off with 5 hours a day and then bump it up an hour every three days until you get to where you want it

gmubeach May 3, 2010 May 3, 2010 also be aware of the heat factor... I metaled some zoos in my old tank.
TonyInVa May 3, 2010 May 3, 2010 I have the Phoenix 250W 14,000K. I like the look. You could come see it over my tank if you want.
