WaterDog April 14, 2010 April 14, 2010 So I honestly can't decide what this is. I'm somewhat leaning towards Dragon's Breath Macroalgae, but I'm honestly not sure. Any thoughts?
Chris- April 15, 2010 April 15, 2010 Looks like fine Gracilaria(sp). My tang would tear that up, lol.
WaterDog April 15, 2010 Author April 15, 2010 Looks like fine Gracilaria(sp). My tang would tear that up, lol. That's what I thought at first too, but when I looked at pictures of gracilaria, it looked a lot branchier than this...
Coral Hind April 15, 2010 April 15, 2010 It looks more like a dragon's breath type then a graci. Graci breaks kind of easy while dragon's breath is pretty tough, like leather. Your anemone seems to be happy underneath it.
Chris- April 15, 2010 April 15, 2010 Yea, I did not think it was gracilaria either, just looked like it.
WaterDog April 15, 2010 Author April 15, 2010 It's Halymenia (dragons breath). It looks more like a dragon's breath type then a graci. Graci breaks kind of easy while dragon's breath is pretty tough, like leather. Your anemone seems to be happy underneath it. It breaks up easily if I pull it out, which is why I kind of thought gracilaria, but it looks like dragon's breath. And yes, it moved right there...on top of a paly.
Jan April 16, 2010 April 16, 2010 Cousin it. I just dated mayself. there are several types of gracileria(sp) macro. Dragons breath would have grown thicker and wider.
WaterDog April 16, 2010 Author April 16, 2010 Grrr...I want to get rid of some of it, but if it's something that people with tangs and such want, then I'll give it to them, but if it's dragon's breath...
