encideought April 12, 2010 April 12, 2010 Has anyone ever had one of these? Heteropsammia cochlea It would be kinda cool to take your coral for a walk around the tank
Chad April 12, 2010 April 12, 2010 I think they are awesome, although I would be concerned about the peanut worm walking into another coral There have been a lot of those on DD recently.
gmubeach April 12, 2010 April 12, 2010 What is this I'm looking at is it a worm with a coral or a coral with a worm or just a coral
Chad April 12, 2010 April 12, 2010 It is a peanut worm with a commensal coral that it carries around, they are uber cool! They carry both photosynthetic and non-photosynthetic corals around (I think most of those on DD recently have been photosynthetic).
Hilary April 13, 2010 April 13, 2010 Yea, I was looking at them on DD and was really tempted, but reason prevailed since I really don't have the sand space available for one to move around without knocking everything else around.
encideought April 13, 2010 Author April 13, 2010 (edited) Yeah, I haven't researched it very thoroughly (probably not much info out there available), but the ones I've seen for sale seem to be photosynthetic (more like a duncan than a dendro). There is a hole in the bottom of the coral where a peanut worm lives and helps carry it around. Pretty freakin' cool! Edited April 13, 2010 by encideought
