gmubeach March 2, 2010 March 2, 2010 I've been reading about leds not sure if the start up price is the worth benifits? Also not sure how much the start up price should be? Trying to find a 24 g nano cube without any lighting Going to mount leds on said nano cube. Need to know how much its going to cost? How many leds I need I want to grow clams/anomeies/softies/ and lps. My room gets very hot in the summer trying to avoid the chiller expense. Before I had 250watt metal halide and 2 65 power compacts... this did the job, but I needed a chiller Anyway let me know your thoughts.. I'm new to the whole led so I won't take anything personal... ps I got a job start tomorow!
zygote2k March 2, 2010 March 2, 2010 you can probably use 2) nanotuners PAR 38 bulbs. They'll cost you about $100 each and you'll need to make or find a fixture. clamp lamps are an easy fix, but you'll probably want something nicer.
Brian Ward March 2, 2010 March 2, 2010 Look at chucelli's build thread on his LED pendants. I believe it's in the DIY forum.
gmubeach March 2, 2010 Author March 2, 2010 I did and I pm'd him directly is there anyone else in the club that uses led's it seems like a neat idea!
gmubeach March 2, 2010 Author March 2, 2010 xygote I can't find what your talking about can you pm me or write in a link? Anyway I'm super excited by the leds trying to figure out how to hold them in place with out hanging them from the roof.
dtfleming March 2, 2010 March 2, 2010 nanotuners.com, look on nano-reef.com in the lighting forum. A lot of DIY led stuff there.

I believe several other people do as well. chucelli's post should give you enough info to build your own if you wanted to go for it. Hopefully he'll get back to you soon. ~Brian
