steveoutlaw December 26, 2009 December 26, 2009 I just got a nice frag of the garf purple bonsai. I have it in a medium light and medium to high flow area. however, it just doesn't look happy. It's losing its color and the polyps are definately not out like they used to be. It was doing great when I had it on the frag rack in my tank. Any suggestions? Should I move it to an area where it's not getting as much flow?
lhcorals December 26, 2009 December 26, 2009 Steve, I have mine in a high light and moderate to high flow. It has been there for about 6 months now and is doing great.

lanman December 26, 2009 December 26, 2009 I never have any luck with it - so don't ask ME!! Mine always starts to STN once it starts to grow out like a colony. I end up with frags... and when the frags get big enough - yeah... start to STN and I end up with frags... bob

gtipower December 27, 2009 December 27, 2009 Looks like I'm going fishing!! Yeh that definitely could be a factor. Also double check to make sure you don't have any red bugs on there. That was the first coral in my tank that I spotted to have red bugs. It definitely caused the polyps to retract. Once I took care of the red bugs, it started looking great and growing again!
