zygote2k December 16, 2009 December 16, 2009 Cinnamon polyps for $25 per polyp? What is the world coming to? Those things used to be $10 for a colony back in the day!
onux20 December 16, 2009 December 16, 2009 Try asking Bbreefer...i guess its "bn251" now...he seems to deal a lot with Zoas and Palys. I would think growth has a lot to do with tank conditions. If the conditions are right then it will pop out a new head. If not maybe there is some need that is not being met? Just a thought.
bluefunelement December 16, 2009 December 16, 2009 If your not seeing growth with Paly's and they have been open and not in too little/much light and the tank parameters are stable try feeding them - I do Hikari Marine S pellets once a week to a few polyps - I don't think it should be needed for these "weeds" though Try asking Bbreefer...i guess its "bn251" now...he seems to deal a lot with Zoas and Palys. I do feed about 1once a week, pellets, one of those formula 1/2. i had 4 T5, just upgraded to 8 last week. I have like 5-6 other different palys, which i see plenty of little polyps growing. But this one, it's just getting fatter, no new polyps.... all the palys are on the same dept/height in the tank. maybe it's just a very slow grower.
L8 2 RISE December 16, 2009 December 16, 2009 I just sold a huge colony for the price of one of those polyps on vivid... If only I had known . I don't know that mine ever really grew new polyps... they just got bigger.

I guess what I was getting at is maybe these guys are pickier than the others. And give it time with the new lights maybe that will kick start the process? Also, have you dipped the polyp in revive or thelike? Maybe a disease or parasite? Just a thought. Ron
L8 2 RISE December 16, 2009 December 16, 2009 IME/O, if the polyp is growing, it's fine. Large paly's like this are different from smaller ones. Eventually it will reach a point where it will start growing more polyps.

Ron no dips... i dont think there is any disease, they are definitely fatter than when i first got it. so...
kholla12 December 16, 2009 December 16, 2009 Those are palyo grandis. Not just common brown Cinnamon polyps. Seem to be a slower grower. Feed them some mysis.
