MJ1200 with Mod

I just noticed today that my MJ12 with Mod kit is running in reverse. Can anyone tell me why? Is there something i can do to get it to run normal? The MJ an mod are 2 months old.

I've heard if you unplug it, hold something on it when you turn it back on, and give it a flick the right way you'll be good to go. Second hand info though as I've never owned one.

Mine always do that, not been able to stop them before the shaft on the mod breaks. I've been told that the easiest way to fix it is to hold your hand over the end until it rights itself.

if the stopper in the unit is broken or the prop isn't hitting it you can trim the shaft a bit so the prop starts hitting the stopper and turning the right way.

 

I have mine on switches and just turn on off/plug unplug til i get the right direction. the covering the front of the pump also works but is much harder to do

i stopped using the white propellers, and only use the black ones. that seemed to work well. I also cut about a 1/4 inch off the white propeller as a "test" and it seems to help it from screwing up.

Just put your hand in front of the modded MJ, touching the plastic so you block the intake of water (as it is running on reverse) and it will change direction.

Most of the time this happens if there are close to the bottom or the side of a container. They move a lot of water so they need space around it to take on all that water.

Both of mine ended up breaking the plastic piece which kept it from going in reverse. When one broke it sucked up an LTA while in reverse. Both are now in the trash!

I didn't have long term success with those MJ mods either..

Either the tabs broke or the mods actually broke the powerhead (pushed through the back).
