Sponge ID

Picked up a hitch hiker on the bottom of a war coral I have. Was very tiny when I got it and stayed that way for a while. In the last month it has grown about 2 1/2 all the way around which makes it about 5 inches from side to side. Seems a bit aggressive in terms of growth, but I like the way it looks.

 

Who's got the skinny?

It looks like a colony of tunicates which are harmless.

+1, tunicates, not a sponge. And they may die off suddenly.

Either of you have any links to support that this is indeed a harmless tunicates? I haven't been able to find anything that shows one that even remotely looks like this.
