reefmontalvo June 4, 2009 June 4, 2009 I just want to place a little bit of praise to the folks over at EcoTech Marine. The Tech department is the best I recently had a problem with my MP20's suddenly turning off and could figure out the reason. They ran great for two months, then it seems as soon as I placed them in my new 120 the would only run for about an hour then cut off sometimes even five minutes. After Talking to Steve at Ecotech he suggested I send him one of the pumps, he ran the pump all weekend long after letting me know he got the pump in the mail that day and I agreed to his suggestion of running the pump over the weekend in the shop. The man is a true gentleman he not only kept me up to date on the progress of the pump but even changed the bearings in the wet side housing. It was also good to know there shop and facility is all hobbyist as well it made it easy to talk about what I was using the pumps for and the corals I was using the pump with. Well to get back to the problem it seems the MP20 and the rest of the models all have a heat fuse to prevent overheating of the unit not the pump but the command module. I had installed my MP20's on the top right side in side the stand, come to find out the ambient temp under stand is 80 to 85 degrees, and the fuse is set to trip around 82 degrees. In other words if you have all your equipment running under stand as I do then it is best ot keep the units mounted outside the tank this will prevent excess moisture from entering the units and it will keep the warranty from going voided since it will cause damage to the circuit boards in the units. After taking his advice I can say now it has been a solid week and the pumps are running strong and I'm trouble free. I really did appreciate the time Steve took to help me with my problem. I can

They're only a day away by UPS and, when you send them something after calling them, they try their best to get it fixed and out the same day. They really understand your reliance on their product and bend over backwards to make sure you're happy. And this was with a used pump!
