overklok May 19, 2009 Share May 19, 2009 (edited) I have a Grey Seas calcium reactor. I was wondering where is a good place to purchase some aragonite? I am currently using CRM brand calcium media. I would like to add some aragonite to the reactor to supplement magnesium. How much of a ratio of calcium to aragonite media would be suitable for this application? Thanks Edited May 19, 2009 by overklok

Origami May 19, 2009 Share May 19, 2009 Have you considered using dolomite (calcium magnesium carbonate - CaMg(CO3)2) in your reactor? I think you use it in a 1:9 ratio (dolomite to CRM). I'm looking for a local bulk source (it's said to be available as dolomite lime at landscaper stores), but here's an internet source for Aquamedic Dolomite: http://www.aquacave.com/dolomite-1-liter-b...medic-2176.html. flowerseller May 19, 2009 Share May 19, 2009 Use to buy it at Tropical Lagoon in Silver Spring. Don't know about it anymore. Brightwell has a product out that is put in reactors to help Mg. Haven't used it.
