Here is a couple pics of our new buddies that I picked up today. The boss told me she wanted all 8 so she can pick which ones she wants. She's unreal sometimes!

These are just pics of them in the bags sitting in my tank to temp acclimate them. Hopefully I can get some better pics of them in the quarantine tanks later.

You might be right. I was told they were rhomboids, but forgot to check their tails. They are only about 3in right now.

Just checked -

Indeed you are right. They are Lineatus.

Yeah I have the tanks covered real well. They are awesome looking and pretty laid back so far.

Awesome!

May I ask where you got eight presumably healthy lineatus wrasses? I thought they get a little territorial, will they all be okay in a 125?

The wife wanted me to get them all so she could pick which ones she wanted. She's the bread winner, she can have what she wants-lol. I'm only planning on keeping 3.

I picked them up at Roozens today.

AFAIK they won't really get too territorial until they get bigger, and if I kept them all. We'll see. I have them in 2 QT's and they all seem to be doing good. They all ate already too, so that was really cool.

And the pictures obviously suck going through a plastic bag and the tank. They are pretty slick looking. I haven't seen a Rhomboid in person yet, but these are our favorites by far from all the fish we have seen.

I am sure we will end up selling off the ones we don't keep. Who knows how long it will take her to make up her mind though!!!! It better be in 6 weeks when QT is over so I don't have to look at the tanks and change water in 3 of them!!!

I'll keep you in mind.

They are beautiful fish, especially once one becomes a supermale. Had a pair awhile back. Personally, I find the Lineatus wrasse much prettier than the rhomboid wrasse.

Thats funny you say that John. We looked at the pictures online and then at our fish in the tank and said wow we got some REALLY GOOD LOOKING ones! lol

Guess I should have checked the tail. It didn't matter either way though, we were looking for either one. I figure if we keep 3, most likely one will be a female and turn into a supermale. We'll see. Either way, we love em' with the color they have now. Jos said that they only get better, so I am sure we will be happily surprised either way. They are tough to get ahold of. Especially with permits just coming back out now.

Hopefully we will be able to trade a pair of these for some Flames, we heard they look pretty sweet too.

What are you doing the other five? If you're selling them I may be interested in one or two :)

Very nice find.

2nd in line and maybe the rest of the group if you are able to keep that many. they would go in a 240.they are reef safe right.

Keep me in mind
