davelin315 February 26, 2009 February 26, 2009 Doug came by Floris this morning to deliver a couple of sea horses to one of the classrooms and spent some time explaining how to care for them and fielding questions from the kids. We'll be posting a thread on this tank in the education forum soon! Our resident sea horse expert being handed a sea horse by Doug. Doug introducing the newest members of the class to the kids. Can't say thanks enough to Doug for taking time out of his day for this! The kids were thrilled and glued to the tank all day long according to their teacher. They were also very excited for the first feeding and were amazed at how powerful a snick they have.

davelin315 February 27, 2009 Author February 27, 2009 Yea yea, Doug is great. Kids in Elementary schools have laptops in class? HOW OLD AM I??? Teacher desk. The kids have bigger desks than us... just kidding, it's a projector cart with the teacher's laptop on it.
dbartco February 27, 2009 February 27, 2009 Yea yea, Doug is great. Blah Blah. Kinda how I feel as well. To be honest, the kids probably knew as much as I did already. I was amazed at everything they knew. Heck, they even know the latin genus and species of rotifers! I couldn't remember the exact gestational period the male horses held, and another student there answered it.! This was the first time that I got to see everything Dave has put into action down there at FLoris, and the kids, LOVE it. They were all so excited to show off their tanks! And by the way, the laptop is the teachers hooked up to the projector. Not a students. I am surprised it is a PC and not a MAC though.
