Best case you can reuse the ballast and bulb for a frag tank.

Worst case it is a high pressure sodium system and it is a loss.

Not worth the hassle without specific ballast information.

Good luck.

I know someone who is selling a 2 x 400W PFO ballast w/ two moguls and reflectors for like $125.  No bulbs btw, and the ballast is probably a Probe Start, aka M59.  Let me know if you might be interested and I'll see if they are still available.  I was thinking about buying them myself, but I do not really need them.

Thanks everyone :)

After reading a little bit I decided I should save up to get some new ones with electronic ballasts instead. It seems like I would have more bulb options, less heat, and a lower electric bill that way.

I'm not planning to set the tank up for another year anyways, so I may as well take the time and get the best stuff I can

so I'm not buying again later.
