JC Pollman January 19, 2009 January 19, 2009 I built a plywood tank years ago, and now want to remove it to build a new one. The front glass is siliconed in, and I was wondering if there is any easy way to take it off. Not only would I like to save the glass, but the tank would be much lighter without it, and hence, easier to remove. Note: this is inside, and fumes can be an issue.
Coral Hind January 19, 2009 January 19, 2009 They make silicone removers and they are available at most home improvement stores. I have also used acetone and denatured alcohol. If you don't want fumes the a razor blade might be your best bet.
jason the filter freak January 19, 2009 January 19, 2009 AWESOME to see you back on the boards, it's not half bad with a sharp razor.
extreme_tooth_decay January 19, 2009 January 19, 2009 I'd go with a razor blade, but might take a while. Also, if you don't want to save the glass, you could always just break it.
