It's like buying manure to fertilize your garden, as opposed to just taking a dump on it yourself. It's not really the same thing, even if it outwardly appears to be :lol2:

Explains my neighbors' reactions

Actually, human waste is a perfectly good fertilizer: the poop on Minnesota

How do you know if your corals need the AA's that those products supposedly add?

I'd be interested in trying some for the SPS's that I'm trying to grow in the Au Naturel tank.

What recommendations would anyone have as far as product and brand?

Mark,

It seems you have pretty good success with the Brightwell products. Which Brightwell products do you add to your system and do you add any other non-BW products?

Those questions can be answered in my dedicated tank thread. The only additional product I am adding now that I haven't updated the tread with is the Vitamin-C, which by all accounts is another AA.

Right now I am not adding anything other than the BW products, as that wouldn't really give a true test on the Neozeo system. I also maintain my water parameters with the BW products.

There are several of us running this system on Reef Central, and there is a dedicated thread there in the SPS section. It's been getting bumped just about every weekend with updates from other people testing this system out. If you can't find that thread, I'll post up a link if you are interested. Outside of one or two people that were not following the directions, there has been nothing but positive response, with pictures.

Would it be Au Naturel if you started dosing supplements?

To answer your question, theres only so many AAs and there is plenty of information out there that help these companies make their decision as to which to include in the supplements. Include a variety and you satisfy a wide spectrum of corals.
