WallyBackm July 18, 2008 July 18, 2008 (edited) Want to put my 120 in an area where the floor is unfortunately uneven. It's about 1/2 inch off. It's in the basement with a concrete floor underneath pergo laminate flooring. Do I a) disregard and fill? not likely I don't think b) put some shims under stand? c) find a new location for tank? Fixing floor is not an option. Thanks Edited July 18, 2008 by WallyBackm
dshnarw July 18, 2008 July 18, 2008 I'd either shim it or find a new location. +1 an uneven 120 seems like a flood waiting to happen
jason the filter freak July 18, 2008 July 18, 2008 Instead of shims plural, take one very large board and slope it with a i dunno router, plane, I'm not sure what too and use that so the weight it evenly distributed

Don't use soft wood though as the weight may dig into it and cause you more problems. Make sure the wood you use can support the full weight. Edited July 18, 2008 by audible
YBeNormal July 18, 2008 July 18, 2008 I would build a thin wood frame to go under the stand with the wood tapered to match the slope. I've done this for several other tanks and it is by far the best option.
