civitan.erichanson July 13, 2008 July 13, 2008 My Copperband has small white spots on his tail - normal or ick - yikes?
gmubeach July 13, 2008 July 13, 2008 I would always go with your gut unless you could get a picture.....ick can be alot nastier in salt then fresh.. do you run uv
gmubeach July 13, 2008 July 13, 2008 I would make sure that all parameters are in order and that your feeding the correct food copperbandeds are ick prone atleast thats what I've heard... additionally ick in most cases can kill off your entire fish populatoin in a few days ... anyway if you can take a picture....additoinally, ick is free swimming or has a free swimming form the uv sterlizer kills it and keeps it from spreding anyway hope you don't have ick, but if you do I would take steps as soon as you have indentified it!
jamal July 13, 2008 July 13, 2008 if it is ick you will need to take him out as well and treat him in a seperate tank. did he eat yet. garlic will help with his immune system during treatment. hopefully its not lymphocistis. you will need to run the tank at exactly 1.009 sg for several weeks to kill it.
