davelin315 March 22, 2008 March 22, 2008 Anyone have any opinions on the quality of this generator? For that price... it's either a deal or... can't think of anything that rhymes with deal that is bad.
extreme_tooth_decay March 23, 2008 March 23, 2008 can't think of anything that rhymes with deal that is bad. "squeal" (ala Deliverance)
Sea Monkey March 23, 2008 March 23, 2008 http://www.cabelas.com/reviews-cdn/8815/522130/reviews.shtml I love cabelas!! I know it's the 3500 watt model but the reviews for the 4000 watt should be comparable. That's a H-E-double hocky sticks of a deal. The 3500 watt model at Cabelas is $350. BTW, I'm out in Purcellville and we have lost power about 5 times this winter.
stevearlen March 23, 2008 March 23, 2008 I was looking for a generator. ugh. looks like the rebate is for "in-store only" only http://www.partsamerica.com/ and their brick & mortar stores are out west. Advanced AUto Part is a partner but the rebate coupn does not seem to include them.
Guest satellite62 March 24, 2008 March 24, 2008 I have a cheap generator (6500 watts) and have been using it for 8 years in emergencies. There are a couble of things to consider. The rated output is usually for a short surge and the continous output will be lower so make sure it will cover your requirement. Noise: cheapies are very loud, I live out in the mountains with 15 acres, my neighbor is several hundred yards away but he complains of the loud noise when I am running it.
Highland Reefer March 24, 2008 March 24, 2008 My 6500 W just keeps up with one compressor we use for nail guns and a one other heavy draw power tool. If we add another one on it bogs down. The next generator I buy will be at least a 10k unit.
