Well the pump on my Euro Reef RS-180 crapped out last night. No idea what's wrong or how much of it is broken but the impeller is lodged in the housing somehow and won't come out. Since the skimmer is relatively new (by hours of use, not since purchase date) I have an email in to see if there is any warranty coverage. I'm guessing there won't be so I'm trying to determine if it's best to just buy another of the same pump or should I try something else?

If you can find a gen-x 4100 for a decent price, I have a mesh modded impeller for it.

hmmm.... I think my pump actually works i just need to get the impeller out :( how much for the impeller?

Don't know how much stuck the impeller is, but you can always soak it in white vinegar for an hour or so, then see if it comes out :why:

$10? I've got no use for it.

If that doesn't work, you could try stuffing a piece of fish in it and drop it in my mantis tank. Maybe he will beat it out.

The pump on my RS-180 has quit. Brian, what did you do about yours?

I need a new pump. Can I buy a new GenX-4100 to replace this. Will the existing mesh wheel and air intake fit on the new pump?

I bought a new pump from euro-reef. They stock all the original parts and support everything they make. You can purchase through their website.
