Hi, I just wanted to shoot a brief intro to WAMAS community. I just got my 55 Gallon Tenecor Aquarium w/built in overflow for Christmas and decided to go saltwater. Much like a lot of people, my first stint into the hobby was with Freshwater fish but since this tank had a built in overflow with an AMiracle SL-50 Wet/Dry sump, I decided to give my hand at Saltwater.

I had always been interested in Saltwater but I was always daunted by the costs and complexity. Anyway, It's only been a month and I am already hooked! My current setup is as follows:

-55 Gallon Tenecor Stand w/ built in overflow

-Amiracle SL-50 Wet/Dry w/ Rio 1700

-SeaClone SCPS 100 Skimmer w/ MaxiJet 1200

-For water flow I am running 2 Rio 600's and 1 Maxi Jet 900 w/ Hydor Flo attachment

-Orbit 4x65 PC Lighting

-75 Lbs of Live Rock

-Coralife PureFlo II RODI

Inhabitants:

-Yellow Tang

-Six Line Wrasse

-2x Maroon Clown

-Pajama Cardinal

-Canary Blenny

-Yellowfin Damsel

-Neon Goby

-Electric Blue Clam

-Porcelain Crab

-Coral Banded Shrimp

-3x Peppermint Shrimp

-Multiple Hermit crabs

-Multiple Snails

Corals:

-Cabbage

-Orange Zoas

-Xenia

-Colt

-Bubble

-Spaghetti

-Green Mushroom

-Red Mushroom

-Hairy Mushroom

-Star Polyps

-Plate Coral

Anemone

-Seabae

-Bubbletip

I will take a few pics and update this thread this weekend. I picked up a lot of the frags and live rock from a guy leaving the hobby so I'm not sure if I have all the right names down. Maybe some of you can tell me exactly what some of these things are! Anyway, I hope to learn a few things from people here as I am currently already thinking I need a bigger tank!

Welcome! Sounds like a great set-up.

That's a lot to put in in a month, so be careful of going too fast, but sounds like you're having fun and know what you're doing.

Can't wait to see pics!

Welcome to the club. Best $20 I've spent in the hobby. I'm sure you'll come to agree.

I agree, although each $20 does seem to add up doesn't it?

Wow - you really work fast. Welcome to WAMAS!

I'm quite the obsessive personality. Once I commit, I dive completely in! Thanks. I must admit I wouldn't have all of the frags and fish if it weren't for this guy I bought my live rocks from.

I'm an avid forums browser and was doing a lot of research before I actually bought my tank. I'm waiting for the corals to open up and I plan to take a trip to Mr. Corals today then I'll be posting pics of my newbie tank.

Welcome!!! :bluefish: :bluefish: :bluefish:

Hope you can join us at the next meetin on February 16th

I plan to attend. I do have my niece's birthday party that day but I plan to rush right after and see what these meetings are all about.

Hi, Welcome to Wamas!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'm glad I paid the money for membership. I'm usually a lurker on forums but it seemed like a good club to join.
