Larry Grenier January 31, 2008 January 31, 2008 I'm about to make a new stand. I've made a few before and they turned-out well built and quite strong albeit a little ugly. I've always used screws and elmers glue. Is liquid nails as good as elmers? Easy to work with as-in not runny although a mess to get off your fingers. Sorry for the boring question folks. Thanks for your advice.
Nitro Junkie January 31, 2008 January 31, 2008 (edited) The liquid nails that i have used is in the tubes you can put in a caulk gun. Its thick stuff so doesnt really run. Super sticky , used it on many outdoor projects , should handle what your going to use it for Edited January 31, 2008 by Nitro Junkie

extreme_tooth_decay January 31, 2008 January 31, 2008 Liquid nails and construction adhesives are good stuff. However, when I've built stands, I've always just used screws. tim
fab February 2, 2008 February 2, 2008 Definitely glue and screw. Liquid nail or equivalents should be fine. Home Depot is switching from Liquid Nail to another product that is supposed to be as strong as or stronger than Liquid Nail. fab
lanman February 2, 2008 February 2, 2008 Larry - you live a 3-minute drive from Ybenormal - carpenter extraordinaire! If you run into any problems, I'm sure you could talk him into making the drive. bob
