uv sterilizer confusion8 wat

question, bit confused about the wattage requirements for different uv sterilzers. for example:

the "twist" states that the 18 watt one is good for up to 250 gal tank

however the "aqua" states that the 25 watt one is good for up to 150 gal tank.

then you have the "Current" states that the 40 watt is good for up to 200 gal tank.

 

i know each different UV uses different bulbs, T5, compact, vho? is that the difference?

any have a 180 gal mixed reef with a small amount of fish total 7, will add at most 10 in the future.

 

because the price vary among the sterilizers, which would you pick? the cheapest one?

and there are the no name brands on ebay, but i would stay clear of those unless someone had a good experience with it

Minimum 40w.

I use CurrentUSA gamma UV and love it.

It's the only one I'd reccomend.

I have a 25W gamma for my 30. will definitely upgrade to a 40W when I upgrade my tank to a 150.
