jamal December 10, 2007 December 10, 2007 my newer mandarin has decided that fish can not live by bread or copepods alone and chose to sample mysis shrimp today. yay!

Freezerburn December 11, 2007 December 11, 2007 I don't know how many times I've been strait up lied to by a LFS back in florida. I'd be staring a skin and bones, then ask if it was alright and she would tell me yah it eats like a pig but each time frozen food was put in for demonstration bits of mysis would just bounce right off a mandarins head while it stood there in confusion looking for food. :(
jamal December 11, 2007 Author December 11, 2007 from what i read it is an exception rather than a rule. he just chose to eat
zotzer December 11, 2007 December 11, 2007 Isn't it awesome when you are prepared for a "special needs" fish, and it turns out to eat other foods!??! It eventually happened with my supposedly finicky Potter's angel too. It's now a joy to see him racing the other fish to dinner, even when I feed pellet or flake. Every time I approach the tank, he and the piglette female clown are right there in my face, begging for food. LOL Congrats!! Tracy
