tbittner November 14, 2007 November 14, 2007 Little River Turnpike exit off of 495. I think it's about 10 miles south of I66 exit.
rottloverr November 14, 2007 November 14, 2007 (edited) Columbia Pike runs through Annandale and Alexandria mostly. Then turns into Duke St close to I-395. I can't for the life of me think of where Petland is in that area. I know Wally's and Super Pets are in that area. The closest Petland that I know of is in Fairfax off Main St. Cheers, Sean Edited November 14, 2007 by rottloverr
yauger November 14, 2007 November 14, 2007 same here I work in this area and have never heard of PETLAND... if anyone knows the address please post it here.. I would like to check it out.
Rascal November 14, 2007 November 14, 2007 Columbia Pike (Rte 244) runs from Rte 27 at the Pentagon to its end Rte 236 (Little River Turnpike) in the center of Annandale. If you take a left on Rte 236 you will eventually cross I-395 and it will turn into Duke Street (still Rte 236) heading towards Alexandria. If you go right you will cross I-495 heading towards Fairfax. If you go straight across 236 you will be on Backlick heading towards Springfield. On Columbia Pike at Bailey's Crossroads (intersection of Rte 7) there is a Petco (in the same shopping plaza as Best Buy & Trader Joe's). They have saltwater fish. Petland is in Fairfax in Pickett Shopping center. http://www.petland.com/FindPetlandStores/V...fax/Fairfax.htm. They have a great selection of freshwater fish and plants. They also have saltwater fish and some soft corals, mushrooms and anenomes, maybe some LPS.

I happened to see Petland when I was at Trader Joe's in the same shopping center today. I stopped in. By the look of the outside of the place, I had extremely low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. They have a smallish selection, but they actually had some corals I wanted. They also have a magnificent display tank. Worth stopping by. They did have a nano with 2 or 3 dead fish in it, but everything else looked ok. No majano colonies or awful algae problems (ala SuperPetz) tim Edited November 17, 2007 by extreme_tooth_decay
OrientBlueReef November 23, 2007 November 23, 2007 I used to go to a place called Aquarium Adventure in Columbus, Ohio when I went to school there. It was owned by petland and I found both places to be on the pricier side. Anybody know about prices here?

martin December 2, 2007 Author December 2, 2007 That would be a Holocanthus Africanus to you sir! http://www.blueribbonkoi.com/webcart/products.php?cat=11 Yes, it was the most stunning fish I have ever seen. I would suffer gunshot wounds about my head and body if I purchased it for my home aquarium. Just talking about the fish with my wife caused her stress.
