extreme_tooth_decay November 1, 2007 Share November 1, 2007 Here's a pic of my "up and over" return using an external pump I wsa talking about before (for Fishwife). No drilling, no check valve, always stays primped, simple plumbing. The PVC is the pump feed and the clear tube is the return (which goes up 12-15 vertical feet to the next floor) tim
NeoFish November 2, 2007 Share November 2, 2007 (edited) I'm replacing my return pump and manifold and would like to see how yours is set up. What I'd like to see and know: Pictures of your manifold What you feed from it. What size diameter it is and the feeds off it. What return pump you use. Thanks for sharing I don't have anything as fancy as those other systems here - but I just put in a _simple_ manifold system last night for my sump. The issue was feeding my new protein skimmer and not do it with another pump - I want to use the return feed from the tank. So I built this simple manifold that will take my twin over-flow feeds and let me control it into 4 outputs. 2 are for return to the sump, one for the feed to the protein skimmer and the 4th is 'extra' for either water changes or maybe a nitrogen coil. I have twin pondmaster 700's for the return pumps. The over-flow feeds are 1" flex tubing, general PVC is 1", and the two outside valves are 1/2" as I did not need as much flow. So far it works - we'll see how it does over time... Here are a few pics. Edited November 2, 2007 by NeoFish
jason the filter freak November 2, 2007 Share November 2, 2007 (edited) I would have think you've seen this, but Since this was built, the drain and return lines have been replaced with 1.5 inch (drain) and 1 inch (return) hose to prevent vibration noise. Also the 90's that feed the two top manifolds have been replaced with 45's connected to the T's now cocked at a 45 degree angle Edited November 2, 2007 by jason the filter freak
