EBR August 8, 2007 August 8, 2007 (edited) Is there anyplace local or somewhat close that makes the cool steel stands that I see some people have made? I dealt with a local metal shop (Shaw's) in Annapolis for some flitch plates that I used to support the floor for the tank (see first link): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=m...amp;btnG=Search Their bread and butter is custom iron handrails, but they do all sorts of other things, and have done stands. I'm sure there are similar outfits in the Col/EC area. HTH. Matt Edited August 8, 2007 by EBR
danskim August 8, 2007 Author August 8, 2007 Thanks for the link, EBR. There seems to be a few I can call tomorrow. Anyone know perhaps a ballpark figure for a steel stand with dimensions of 96x30x45?
Carl August 8, 2007 August 8, 2007 (edited) Obviously it will depend on your exact configuration...larger I-beams = fewer legs etc... Assuming four, 4 inch I-beams and six, 4 inch square legs... assume 850 - 1000 pounds of steel and $550 - $650 in materials. plus labor -Carl Edited August 8, 2007 by Carl
