YBeNormal June 30, 2007 June 30, 2007 No thoughts to the rotating deflectors?? They reduce flow and you do need to clean them ocassionally to keep them working properly. Otherwise they work great.
treesprite July 1, 2007 July 1, 2007 reduces flow or reduces force? doesn't it put out the same amount but not all in one direction?

I had problems with colonista sanils getting stuck in the rotating part. I also noticed that I was getting back flow as well. I really wasn't that impressed with it.
jason the filter freak July 19, 2007 Author July 19, 2007 I'm almost done this tank I plan on doing everything but the lighting, well I'll put in the fuge lighting. Would any one wanna buy this tank off me?
treesprite July 25, 2007 July 25, 2007 I thought you were going to keep a mantis in it, so now you are selling?
toastiireefs August 2, 2007 August 2, 2007 hey so are you keeping the tank with a mantis?? cuz i just found a teeny tiny mantis in my tank that i cant keep- though it is adorable
'Ric August 10, 2007 August 10, 2007 No thoughts to the rotating deflectors?? First, is 300gph really necessary? Is that a Mantis thing? Second, the only way to slow the speed of water down while keeping the flow is to spread it out over a wider plane (perpendicular to the flow.) Maybe you could make a plenum perferated with lots of little holes, or a long slot or something?
treesprite August 23, 2007 August 23, 2007 I just came back and re-read this whole thread, needing to get some ideas as I contemplate what to do with the damsel I had to take out of the tank....
