Guest Ghazanfar Ghori February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 I'm going to change my tank to BB. It's only got 1" of sand in it for asthetics anyway - atleast this way I won't have to deal with the sand storm. But I cannot stomach a bare glass bottom - gotta do the starboard. Anyone know any local sources for it? BTW - I''m still planning on keeping a fuge, and will have some sand in there, though it may not be a DSB. It'll be a cheato nutrient sponge / frag grow out fuge. Give a spot for the pods to breed and provide some food for the corals. Sound reasonable?
ErikS February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 Check local marinas (used in boat building) - or - try www.cuttingboardfactory.com an alternative material.
flowerseller February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 Have you thought of simply painting the bottom of the tank white?
ReefMon February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 West Marine or Boat US may have it. Mail order will probably be cheaper, as anything having to do with a boat carries a premium price.
michaelg February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 us plastics might be one source. if not the "starboard" brand, they carry some stuff real close
tygger February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 I know many have used starboard with great success, but is anyone worried about the crud getting trapped in between the board and glass bottom?
Reef7855 February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 I have as much of it as you want. You would need to come by and get it though. I am in Annapolis. Dimensions and thickness?
Guest Ghazanfar Ghori February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 Sweet! I'll PM you in a few mins to work out some details...
sde219 February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 Ghazanfar: If you swing out that way I might be interested in having you pick up some for me. We could meet up at some point if you are still interested in the LR. Steve
Guest Ghazanfar Ghori February 15, 2005 February 15, 2005 Steve, I'm checking out some LR from another source. If that doesn't pan out, I'll coordinate with you for yours. Work out your starboard deal with Reef7855. I don't mind picking it up for you and meeting you somewhere.
