jason the filter freak April 11, 2007 April 11, 2007 I thought wood shims were better to keep the tank from sinking into the foam farther over time.
JMsAquarium April 11, 2007 April 11, 2007 I thought wood shims were better to keep the tank from sinking into the foam farther over time. Within time the tank stabilizes and does not think anymore. It only puts pressure until it's level. I had 1/4" thick between my 120 and the stand. It stabilized in less then a month and never moved during the following 3 years I had it up annd running. I guess it also depends on how thick a foam and how soft it is.
tygger April 12, 2007 April 12, 2007 I've never heard of using foam for leveling a tank. Do you put it under the stand? Is using foam common practice?
JMsAquarium April 12, 2007 April 12, 2007 (edited) I've never heard of using foam for leveling a tank. Do you put it under the stand? Is using foam common practice? No, not under the stand, over it. I put it between the tank and the stand. Edited April 12, 2007 by JMsAquarium
