Within time the tank stabilizes and does not think anymore. It only puts pressure until it's level. I had 1/4" thick between my 120 and the stand. It stabilized in less then a month and never moved during the following 3 years I had it up annd running. I guess it also depends on how thick a foam and how soft it is.
